Born in Bihar in northern India and
raised in Canada, Kiran Ahluwalia has
devoted much of her life to the art of Indian vocal music. After receiving
her training in classical music in Bombay, Kiran traveled to Hyderabad
in the Deccan. Here she found Vithal Rao, one of the last living court
musicians of the Nizam (King) of Hyderabad.

Jai Uttal's eclectic East-meets-West music
embraces a rich variety of cultures and traditions. Intrigued by ancient
music, Uttal learned his craft from India's National Living Treasure,
Ali Akbar Khan. Embracing Kirtan and Hindu dance, reggae, Motown, and
Beatles' rock, Uttal creates a sacred, visionary chant in a Western groove.

village in the Loire Valley in 1982 by Denis Péan and Richard Bourreau
as a vehicle for exploring different styles of music, Lo'Jo
performed at local events, during which the group was often joined by

Altramar
specializes in the music of the Medieval Era, sharing historical repertory
in the context of human experience, and evoking the vibrant tapestry of
medieval culture. Altramar, in the Occitan language of the troubadours,
was the name given to the Near Eastern lands that lay "over the sea,"
where crusade and trade resulted in the rich cultural interchange of East

Nigunim and Zmiros are
songs of devotion and praise; spiritual Hasidic - Jewish chants whose
purpose is to induce a state of piety and ecstasy in both performer and
listener. The Nigunim Trio -Lorin Sklamberg,
Frank London (of the Klezmatics), and pianist Rob Schwimmer- perform original
and traditional nigunim and zmiros drawn from the Belzer, Gerer, Lubovitcher,
and Skulaner dynasties of the Hasidim. This is a unique, intimate setting
for these three musicians focusing on the intense beauty of mystical Jewish
