Enhancing Accessibility to and
Awareness of Arts and Arts Education |
|
RUAP
engages our students and visiting professional artists in the creation
and implementation of high quality educational arts programs that actively
involve community youth with the intention of fostering youth self-esteem
and strength.
|
|
Cultural Citizenship |
|
RUAP
supports cultural citizenship or those practices and ways of being that
sustain communities and contribute to the larger society. Particularly
important are the struggles for space and cultural rights that shape identity
within our communities and connecting to an understanding of artistic
responsibility and problem solving that focuses on both social justice
and enhancing the role of the arts.
|
|
Community-Based Curricula |
|
RUAP
integrates our curriculum and the expertise of community arts and youth
leaders via an exchange that brings community leaders and youth onto campus
and our students, faculty, and visiting artists into the community.

|

|
RUAP
facilitates relationship building between art and youth-serving organizations
within and across communities to increase the number, quality, and diversity
of arts programs for youth.
